Last year, Walmart had laptops in its store with very good prices. My sister needed to update hers, so we ordered a Lenovo from the online store.
When it arrived, everything was super good, but the first strange thing is that the power cord was of the European type. But well, it’s insignificant for the price.
About 10 months later, the computer started to fail and we tried to use the warranty. When trying that, the warranty indicates that the laptop was “purchased” more than two years ago, so it was no longer valid. We searched and read somewhere that if you call Lenovo and show the purchase receipt, they update the warranty date.
Well, we did that and Lenovo is telling us that the laptop was “purchased in India” and that they cannot help us. And since Walmart only gives you a 30-day warranty, they’re being jerks.
Now we are going to proceed with Profeco (presumably a consumer protection agency), but here’s the warning so that you don’t even think about buying any laptops from Walmart Mexico.
